PREPARATORY AND PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The meeting will be held in person.
The remote connection will exceptionally be possible for delegates unable to travel.
However, interventions delivered remotely cannot exceed 30 minutes, in total, for each 3-hour session, following the UN Office at Geneva rules. Therefore, their delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Delegates are kindly requested to send their statements and/or comments to the secretariat in advance of the meeting, by 28 November 2022
REGISTRATION
Delegates planning to attend the meeting, whether virtually or in person, are requested to register by 9 November 2022. Please register online using the following link: https://indico.un.org/event/1000554/
To ensure that you receive all important correspondence about the meeting and that the secretariat can make all required practical and other arrangements on time, we urge participants to register online as soon as possible, even if they hold a UNOG ground entry pass.
Instructions for Indico registration:
Step 1: Account creation. You must create an account if you do not have one yet. If you already have an existing account proceed to Step 2.
- Go to the registration page: https://reg.unog.ch/user/register (copy the link and paste it on recommended browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge)
- Fill out the account creation form then click on Confirm
- You should receive an email with an activation link. Click on that activation link.
- Your account is now activated

Step 2: Register for the meeting.
- At this stage, you have already created and activated your account on the new UNOG online registration and accreditation system (One time exercise).
- Go to the meeting registration page: https://indico.un.org/event/1000554/ (copy the link and paste it on recommended browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge)
- Click on the button "Register now" - If you are not already logged in, you will be redirected to the login page where you can log in using your user name (email) and password.
- Fill out the registration form and click on Submit.
- Once you are registered, you will receive an email informing you that your registration has been received and is pending approval
- As soon as the Secretariat processes your registration, you will receive a confirmation email

In case of difficulties, please contact the secretariat by email ([email protected]). The link for the virtual platform for the meeting will be sent to registered participants only.
PARTICIPATION
It remains mandatory for masks to be worn in all UN Geneva conference rooms. Please do not come to the UN premises if you develop any COVID-like symptoms or test positive for the virus.
There's currently no entry restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Delegates are, however, requested to check COVID-19-related rules regularly and prior to arrival to the meeting venue.

Delegates are also requested to check all requirements regarding medical and other relevant insurance before travel. Please be informed that any medical, quarantine or other possible expenses will be borne by your Organisation and/or insurance, as the United Nations does not take any responsibility for possible consequences of the present COVID-19 situation.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The meeting will be paperless. All documents will be available on the meeting webpage.
Wireless internet is available in all meeting rooms. Note that electrical power plugs and sockets are unique to Switzerland within the UNECE region (type J, three-pin, 230 V, 50 Hz), and respectively require an adaptor, though slim two-pin plugs (type C) will fit.
In addition, please note that you can drink tap water at the Palais des Nations. As there will be no drinking water served in the meeting room, we encourage delegates to bring reusable bottles or containers for tap water.
Entering the Palais des Nations
To attend UNECE meetings at the Palais des Nations, you must register in advance online on the relevant conference/meeting's webpage. For Long Duration badges, please contact the secretariat of the meeting.

Note:
During extensive renovation works in the Palais, the Pregny Pavillion building will be closed to pedestrians from 5 September 2022 until the end of May 2023.
During the entire renovation period, please take note of the temporary location to obtain access badges to the Palais des Nations for conference participants:

ONLINE PARTICIPATION VIA ZOOM – INSTRUCTIONS
The remote connection will exceptionally be possible for delegates unable to travel. However, interventions delivered remotely cannot exceed 30 minutes, in total, for each 3-hour session, following the UN Office at Geneva rules. Therefore, their delivery cannot be guaranteed.
The token for accessing the meeting will be communicated to the registered online participants on 15 December 2023.
General instructions for participants connected remotely:
☐ Computer connected to a stable internet link. Avoid a Wifi connection and prefer an Ethernet cable connection (LAN)
☐ Work from a quiet place and avoid noise pollution caused by open windows, fans in the room or any other noise that could be picked up by the microphone
☐ Use a headset with a built-in microphone and connected directly by USB cable (avoid wifi and Bluetooth)
☐ If the participant does not have a headset/microphone he/she should use at least one headset to avoid feedback from the computer
☐ It is advisable to use google chrome (preferably in private mode) as a browser for the connection and to close all the applications that may be open on the computer. For Zoom, please refer to document entitled “Recommendations for Zoom meeting attendees”
☐ It is advisable to carry out a test with the participants well before the start of the conference to :
a) Test their connectivity
b) Test the sound feedback
c) Help them to frame their camera properly
d) Make sure they are in a noise-free environment
e) Give a final reminder on the use of the delegate interface
