Improving daily lives of people is at the heart of our technical assistance. By helping our member States’ capacity to accede to, adopt and implement its legal instruments and standards, we support their efforts to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

UNECE technical cooperation includes projects and capacity building activities in areas including environment, energy, transport, trade, statistics, and gender mainstreaming.  Our technical cooperation portfolio focuses on projects that support subregional and regional integration, promote multisectoral and/or transboundary solutions to shared problems, and aim at achieving long-term impact and sustainability.

Α UN framework for the immediate socio-economic response to COVID-19 sets out the framework for the United Nations’ urgent socio-economic support to countries and societies in the face of COVID-19, putting in practice the UN Secretary-General’s Shared Responsibility, Global Solidarity report.

UNECE participates in the meetings of UNCTs to effectively respond to the impact of COVID-19, for Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Serbia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and others, gathering UN agencies and international financial institutions, to support countries in discussing fiscal stimulus with focus on the most vulnerable, supporting SMEs, decent work, working on connectivity and trade, resilience, education and prioritizing social cohesion measures.

UNECE signed United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2021-2025 with Uzbekistan

UNECE will support Uzbekistan development efforts through the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for the period of 2021-2025.

UNECE will contribute to achieving the following UNSDCF outcomes:

  • Outcome 3. By 2025, youth, women and vulnerable groups benefit from improved access to livelihoods, decent work and expanded opportunities generated by inclusive and equitable economic growth.
  • Outcome 5. By 2025, the most at risk regions and communities of Uzbekistan are more resilient to climate change and disasters, and benefit from increasingly sustainable and gender-sensitive efficient management of natural resources and infrastructure, robust climate action, inclusive environmental governance and protection.

UNECE signed United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2021-2025 with Georgia

UNECE will support Georgia development efforts through the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for the period of 2021-2025.

UNECE will contribute to achieving the following UNSDCF outcomes:

  • Outcome 3: By 2025, all people without discrimination benefit from a sustainable, inclusive and resilient economy in Georgia.
  • Outcome 5: By 2025, all people, without discrimination, enjoy enhanced resilience through improved environmental governance, climate action and sustainable management and use of natural resources in Georgia.
