9 December 2019: UNECE Secretariat has released the 2019-2 UN/LOCODE directory.

9 December 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Transfer of MLETR-compliant titles.” This project aims to provide the technical specifications necessary for the transfer(s) of title as it relates to negotiable financial instruments (e.g. Bill of Lading) and which are intended to be in compliance to the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR). This project will develop a white paper on the subject and a technical reference implementation. If you would like more information, please contact the project lead: Ren Yuh Kay.

28 November 2019: The UN/EDIFACT directory version D.19B has been validated by the Validation Focal Point and officially published. It is now available for browsing in the UN/EDIFACT section of the UN/CEFACT website and can be downloaded from the UN/EDIFACT Directories.

The Core Component Library (CCL) D19B and XML Schema D19B have been validated by the Validation Focal Point and officially published. They are now available on the UN/CEFACT website.

21 December 2018: UNECE Secretariat has released the 2018-2 UN/LOCODE directory.

12 November 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project Cross Border Management Reference Data Model (CBM-RDM). This project shall aim to link trader information to regulatory requirements, providing seamless semantic connections for electronic data exchange. This builds upon the existing reference data models for Supply Chain and for Multi-Modal Transport and will consider all regulatory data which is publicly available. 1 November 2019: This is to announce a 60-day Public Review concerning the Revision of Recommendation 5 – Abbreviations of INCOTERMS. If you would like to submit comments, please use the appropriate template provided on the Public Review page and send to the Project Leader, Tomas Malik before 31 December 2019.

24 October 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Digital ID for Trade Facilitation.” This project aims, within the context of UN/CEFACT’s mandate to create a whitepaper that focuses on studying existing digital ID systems and presenting best practices for existing systems that can act as a guide for future implementation. This will include examining how Digital ID systems could be used to facilitate trade and related processes as well as how existing UN/CEFACT deliverables could be used by Digital ID systems. 4 October 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project "Experience Programs Technical Artefacts". As outlined in the UN/CEFACT Green Paper on the subject, experience programs are offered increasingly around the world. This project will identify and define the data which can be exchanged to support this emerging trend. If you would like more information, please contact the project lead: Mr. Sachin Mehta.

4 October 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project Revision of Recommendation 5. This project will modernize and update the Recommendation 5 and its annex based on Incoterms® 2020 published by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). 23 August 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review concerning the Pipeline Data Exchange Structure BRS (PDES). If you would like to submit comments, please use the appropriate template provided on the public Review page and send to the project Leader, David Roff before 24 October 2019.

24 July 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review concerning the revision of Recommendation 33 on Single Window. If you would like to submit comments, please use the appropriate template provided on the Public Review page and send to Lance Thompson, before 24 September 2019.

23 July 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review concerning the Smart Containers BRS. If you would like to submit comments, please use the appropriate template provided on the Public Review page and send to the Project Leader, Hanane Becha, before 23 September 2019.

1 July 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project RDM-2-API. This project aims to define a standard methodology that can be used to produce high quality OpenAPI specifications and JSON LD dictionaries from existing UN/CEFACT semantic library content, particularly the Reference Data Models (RDMs). 1 July 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project API Town Plan. This internal-looking project will establish a high level “API town plan” and associated governance and publishing framework for UN/CEFACT APIs. 21 June 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review until 21 August 2019 concerning the project to revise Recommendation 16 on the United Nations Location Codes for Trade and Transport. Please use the Comment Template if you would like to make comments before this date.

4 June 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Cross Industry Supply Chain Track and Trace.” This project aims to create a standard for the exchange of information about asset (product, lot, pallet, etc.) traceability. This includes monitoring the history of a traceable asset and monitoring the present and future movements of the asset. 29 May 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project "Reimbursement of Healthcare Claims".  This project aims to extend the current UN/CEFACT Insurance deliverables to cover private health (full or additional) insurance policies to support the exchange of data in the field of reimbursing claims. 28 May 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review until 29 July 2019 concerning the CI Delivery Process BRS. Please use the Public Comment Template provided to facilitate the preparation of the Comment Log by the Project Team

28 May 2019: Registration to 34th UN(CEFACT Forum is now open.

23 May 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Readiness for Emergency Relief Importation”. This project will develop a recommendation to provide clear, accessible and concise best practice guidelines in enabling efficient clearance facilitation measures for humanitarian readiness and response. It will present the legislative frameworks but also describe what leadership in this field looks like. If you would like more information, please contact the project lead: Ms. Virginie Bohl.

15 May 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Sustainable Tourism White Paper” . Sustainable tourism is an integral part of the UN 2030 Agenda and aims to help stimulate local economies and reduce the environmental impact of tourism. This project will produce definitions, standards and guidelines on sustainable tourism initiatives. If you would like more information, please contact the project lead: Mr. Tunghua Tai.

10 May 2019: UN/CEACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “eCert Technical Implementation Guide”.   This project will detail how to optimize the use of this government to government exchange standard and implement it in a way that is interoperable with other countries around the world. 6 May 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Cross border inter-ledger exchange for preferential certificates of origin using blockchain” . This project will provide guidance on exchanges between blockchain solutions on a government to government level while at the same time creating a clear semantic standard for Preferential CO. It will pay particular attention to considerations that will be necessary when creating, administering and using blockchain platforms destined to exchange data between governments and across multiple blockchain networks. Although initially focused on preferential CO, the inter-ledger framework is intended to support any G2G data exchange.  If you would like more information, please contact the project lead: Mr. Steve Capell.

26 February 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the project “Accounting and Audit Reference Data Model.”  The project will develop a high-level semantic Reference Data Model in the area of Accounting and Audit. For this, the project will consider existing standards that are openly accessible and free of charge in the area of audit data representation and accounting in general. 18 February 2019: This is to announce a 60-day public review until 19 April 2019 concerning the Buy-Ship-Pay Reference Data Model - Business Requirement Specification (BRS). Please use the Public Comment Log provided to facilitate the preparation of a Disposition Log by the Project Team.

7 February 2019:  Elections of UN/CEFACT Regional Rapporteurs, Monday, 8 April 2019.

Elections of Regional Rapporteurs to UN/CEFACT will take place on Monday, 8 April 2019, in Geneva during the 25th UN/CEFACT Plenary. The roles and responsibilities of Regional Rapporteurs are described in the UN/CEFCT Mandate and Terms of Reference, paragraphs 82 to 85. (ECE/TRADE/C/CEFACT/2017/15).
All interested candidates must complete the Candidate Form and provide a current Curriculum Vitae. The candidacies should be sent to the UNECE secretariat by 22 February 2019.

9 January 2019: UN/CEFACT is pleased to launch a call for participation for the “Cross Industry Delivery” project.  Within the family of “Cross Industry” deliverables developed to support supply chain management, this deliverable aims to add the Receiving Advice to the already existing Despatch Advice and align them to the Supply chain reference Data Model.
