Context:
The 19th session was composed of an informal part
(20-24 May 2024, Troy, USA) and of a formal part (25 June 2024, Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland).
The formal part was a 1-hour session scheduled on 25 June 2024. Given the number of documents for consideration at the 19th session, the informal part of the 19th session provided the necessary time for consultations and technical discussions, allowing the delegations to review the documents and prepare a list of proposed decisions for adoption by GRVA during the official part on 25 June 2024.
Items discussed during the week:
-Review of deliverables related to ADS, ADAS, cyber security, software updates, active safety.
-Finalization of the draft new regulation on Acceleration Control for Pedal Error and of the EMB requirements
-Technical visit at the Technical Certer of Autoliv America in Auburn Hills
-Technical exchange on Belle Island with the CEO of Italdesign
-Technical demonstrations on Thursday afternoon by major OEMs and suppliers (Aptiv, BMW, GM, Mobileye, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla) demonstrative Level 2+ technologies, as well as other expos and demos regarind:
- ADAS and Autonomous Driving Solutions
- Safety Driven, Large-Scale Simulation
- Hands-Free Driving Technology
- Interior Sensing Solutions
- Thermal Sensing Systems
- Camera-Based Driver Monitoring System
- Automated Driving Marker Lights
