Seventy-first session of the Commission, 9-10 April 2025
The seventy-first session of the Commission will take place as an in-person meeting on 9 and 10 April 2025 in Geneva, at the Palais des Nations.
In a decision taken at the 134th meeting of the Executive Committee on 1 July 2024,
- acknowledging that international cooperation for climate action is
necessary to address multiple sustainable development challenges,
- recognizing that appropriate risk management and increased resilience in
infrastructure is essential for future economic development, and

connectivity within the UNECE region,
UNECE member States designated “Climate action and resilient
infrastructure for a sustainable future” as the cross-cutting theme for the
high-level segment of the session.
The session will gather ministers and deputy ministers from the UNECE region and provide member States with an opportunity to:
- Exchange experiences related to the cross-cutting theme
- Share success stories, identify knowledge gaps and areas for further action
- Consider issues of importance for the economic integration and cooperation among the countries of the region
- Review the progress of the Commission’s activities.
Additional information will be posted in the lead up to the session.
