Introduction
All Member States of the United Nations are welcome to join. Government delegates responsible for agricultural trade, quality standards, or commercial quality control, as well as relevant trade bodies and experts, are invited to attend.
The annotated provisional agenda and background documents for the session are available in three official languages.
All meeting participants are requested to register and the registration is open until 15 August 2024.
The session will discuss a proposal for changes to the UNECE standard for Ovine Meat – Carcases and Cuts, consider options for fully digitizing the UNECE Standard for Bovine Meat – Carcases and Cuts, and initiate work to review the UNECE standard for Chicken Meat - Carcases and Parts.

Roundtable - Agenda
The session will also include roundtable discussions focused on three aspects of sustainable food systems: (a) Animal raising claims; (b) Animal welfare; and (c) Digitalization of meat trade processes. The discussion will foster the implementation of decisions from the 70th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in April 2023, themed "Digital and green transformations for sustainable development"
