This year, UNECE celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Committee on Housing and Land Management during the 78th Session of the Committee on 8-10 November 2017. In order to mark the event, at its 77th Session in September 2016, the Committee agreed to organize a Ministerial Segment at its 78th session and to adopt a Ministerial Declaration.
The Committee considered a first draft of the Declaration and agreed on some amendments at its Special Session in December 2016. After a process of consultation on the Declaration, the Bureau of the Committee has prepared an updated version of it.
The Informal Meeting of the Committee on Housing and Land Management reviewed, discussed and agreed on the final draft Ministerial Declaration prior to its submission for adoption by the Ministers and discussed the preparations for the Ministerial Segment.
