Following the decision taken by the UNECE High-Level meeting (Vilnius, March, 2005), the first workshop on the implementation of the UNECE Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the sub-region of South-East Europe took place back to back with the
Conference for the Official Launching of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean region (26-27 November 2005).
The workshop was organised by the Greek Ministry for National Education and Religious Affairs in partnership with the UNECE and with the support of the Mediterranean Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE). The main objective of the workshop was to facilitate implementation of the Strategy addressing specific ESD-related issues that are of particular importance for the South-East Europe.
