UNECE Working Party on Land Administration sessions at the 2014 World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty

The Working Party on Land Administration (WPLA) organized two policy sessions at the World Bank conference “Integrating Land Governance into the Post-2015 Agenda: Harnessing Synergies for Implementation and Monitoring Impact”. The conference took place from 24 to 27 March 2014 in Washington DC. 

The first session “Vision for land governance and cooperation in Europe” brought together speakers from land administration authorities in Europe who discussed the current and future challenges of improving land administration in the UNECE region and the activities of the WPLA to address these challenges.

Session agenda

The second policy session “Regional initiatives to improve land governance” included presentations by representatives of the UN regional commissions, the Organization of American States, Dubai Land Department and the World Bank. The speakers presented different regional perspectives on land administration and management, information on regional initiatives for sustainable land governance and examples of interregional knowledge exchange. The session outlined possible avenues for the more active between the regional organizations in the future.
