On 10 February 2023, UNDRR hosted the 9th inter-agency coordination group meeting which aimed to enhance coordination and collaboration among various agencies managing industrial accident risks. This meeting was attended by representatives from several international organizations, incl. UNDRR, UNECE, OECD, UNEP-OCHA JEU, European Commission DG ECHO, European Commission DG HOME, European Commission DG INTPA, ILO and WHO.
The meeting served as a platform for participants to exchange information on achievements, ongoing and planned activities related to the theme of industrial accident risk. Its timing was notably strategic, aligning with the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework. The meeting was also dedicated to discussing ways to enhance coordination and collaboration, with a focus on developing and applying common messages. Several follow up action points came out of the IACG meeting, thereby contributing to further enhancing both coordination and collaboration among organizations, as well as industrial accident risks management.
