The Fourth Workshop on Adaptation to Climate Change in Transboundary Basins took place in the Palais des Nations, Geneva on 25–26 June 2013 back-to-back with the sixth meeting of the Task Force on Water and Climate (Geneva, 27 June 2013).
The workshop offered a platform for exchanging experience on adaptation strategies, best practices, success factors and lessons learned, with a particular focus on transboundary climate change adaptation serving multiple purposes. It built upon the earlier workshops on water and climate organized since 2008 in the framework of the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention).
The workshop was organized in cooperation with the governments of the Netherlands, Switzerland and Finland, as well as with the Alliance for Global Water Adaptation, the World Meteorological Organization, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) International Waters Learning Exchange and Resource Network (IW:LEARN), and the International Network of Basin Organizations.
