Fifteenth meeting of the Working Group of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention

The fifteenth meeting of the Working Group of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention took place in Geneva (Palais des Nations, Salle XI) from 3 to 5 September 2012. The Working Group reviewed a number of issues, including the progress in implementing the Convention's work programme for 2012-2014.

Furthermore, the meeting featured a thematic session on promoting the application of the principles of the Convention in international forums which was organised in the format of panel presentations followed by an interactive discussion. The session addressed, inter alia, the promotion of the principles of the Convention in the lead up to and at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (20–22 June 2012, Rio de Janeiro) and decided on future steps and initiatives to promote the universal application of the Convention’s principles.
