Task Force on Just Transition

The Task Force on Just Transition focuses on strategies to ensure a just and equitable transition for workers and communities affected by industry changes. It has developed a just energy transition approach that creates the necessary foundation to establish resilient and carbon-neutral energy systems. It is focusing on:

  • Continuing ongoing work to develop a principles-based framework for just transition in coal mining regions;
  • Introducing and promoting just energy transition principles across the ECE Sustainable Energy subprogramme and all its Groups of Experts; and
  • Piloting the approach in priority sectors within the ECE region.
