The training session was organized by the Joint UNEP/OCHA Environment Unit, in cooperation with the secretariat of the UNECE Industrial Accident Convention secretariat, to support Armenia in mapping its industrial hazardous activities and thus to strengthen the capacity of the country to prevent, prepare for and respond to industrial accidents. The UNECE secretariat, participating in the workshop via teleconference, highlighted the link between the industrial hazard mapping process, the identification of hazardous activities as stipulated by the Convention and other ongoing initiatives related to disaster risk reduction and CBRN threat reduction.
