National Workshop on the Water Convention for Cameroon

The general objective of the workshop is to inform stakeholders in the water sector in Cameroon, to share information on the process initiated by Cameroon to become a party to the Water Convention and to discuss the next steps in the accession process.

The specific objectives are as follows:

  • Inform stakeholders in the water sector in Cameroon about the Water Convention;
  • identify the benefits, possible advantages and strategic objectives of Cameroon's possible accession and the contribution of this process to Cameroon's hydro-diplomacy;
  • Discuss the practical implementation of the Water Convention to address the challenges of water resources management in Cameroon, based on the experience of existing Parties;
  • Present the global report of the working group in charge of preparing the process of Cameroon's accession to the Convention;
  • Discuss the next steps in the accession process.
