Result of the first phase of the UNECE Dam Safety project The publication provides an overview and analysis of the present situation in Central Asia with regard to the safety of hydraulic structures such as dams. In addition to a list of all major dams in the region, the publication also includes: (i) a model national law on safety of large hydraulic facilities, including dams, intended to be a base of national harmonized legal frameworks for dam safety and (ii) a draft of the regional agreement on cooperation on dam safety.
