The first subregional workshop for senior members of the judiciary took place on 4-5 June 2007 in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. The workshop brought together senior judges from the six countries of the subregion, as well as several members of the EU Forum of Judges for the Environment (EUFJE) and international environmental law experts.
The workshop was organized in cooperation with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the European Forum of Judges for the Environment (EUFJE). The workshop was funded by contributions from the Governments of Sweden, Canada and USA, the latter two through the OSCE fund, and by the trust fund of the Aarhus Convention.
