The fifth meeting of the Working Group of the Parties to the Protocol on PRTRs took place in Geneva from 23 to 24 November 2016.
The Working Group reviewed the progress in implementing the current work programme and considered preparations for the next session of the Meeting of the Parties.
a) Implementation of the work programme for 2015-2017;
b) Financial matters;
c) Compliance and reporting mechanisms, including documents prepared by the Compliance Committee on Guidance on reporting on the Protocol's implementation and Systemic issues with the implementation of the Protocol;
d) Promotion and capacity-building;
e) Preparations for the third ordinary session of the Meeting of the Parties including discussion on a draft joint declaration with the Parties to the Aarhus Convention and the future programme of work for 2018-2021.
