On 5 October 2022, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Ms. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Permanent Representative of Thailand to the UN Office at Geneva. On the occasion, the Special Envoy introduced road fatalities and injuries as a development challenge and advocated for a safer transport system; raised the topic of the road safety situation in Southeast Asia Region and Thailand as well as recommended solutions; shared about the mission to Thailand on 20-23 November; and encouraged engagement with the UNRSF.
