On 7 April 2022, the H.E. Ms. Lotte Knudsen, Permanent Observer of the EU in Geneva hosted an event for the Friends of the Special Envoy where participants represented developed and less developed nations. At the event, the Special Envoy reminded participants that road safety is a human right and that investing in safe mobility will address other important issues such as climate change, sustainable transport and access to education and jobs. The Special Envoy encouraged accession to the UN road safety Conventions, support of the UNRSF and participation at the UN HLM.
