The UNECE TIR secretariat has released two mobile apps - eTIR Customs and eTIR Holders – on Google Play and Apple store to facilitate access to TIR related information and customs procedures under the Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets (TIR Convention) for customs officers and TIR Carnet holders.
At present, the mobile apps are available in 21 languages, the number of languages continues to grow, and provide information regarding TIR Carnet holder status, nearby customs offices, and national association contact information, and even customs sealings and stamps for customs officers. The mobile apps release, that follow the earlier release of the eTIR Portal web platform (https://etirportal.unece.org), represents one more milestone reached by the UNECE’s TIR secretariat to modernize international transport and transit, toward the full digitalization of the TIR Convention.
