The Gender-Responsive Standards Initiative (GRSI) of WP.6 was established in 2016 to provide guidance, relevant resources and reporting progress to guide standards development bodies to ensure that future standards are gender-responsive and thereby give confidence to regulatory agencies that the use of standards will achieve the objective of UN SDG 5.
The GRSI has been transformed officially into a Team of Specialists at the 124th meeting of the UNECE Executive Committee in decision L.13. This will be the first working meeting to establish the Team of Specialists and will therefore have elections for a Chair and eventually Vice-Chair(s). Experts who would like to put their name forward for a position are invited to send their bio to the secretariat before Monday 12 December. Candidature for Chair has been received from Michelle Parkouda; candidature for Vice Chair has been received from Stephanie Eynon and from Lucy He. This meeting will also further discuss gender action plans for standards development.
The meeting report is available here.
