A workshop on validation of preliminary results of mapping of existing technologies to enhance energy efficiency buildings, including gap analysis and recommendations for their use in the region will be held under the auspices of the Joint Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings and will serve as the third meeting of the Joint Task Force. The Committee on Sustainable Energy and the Committee on Housing and Land Management established the Joint Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings in 2015. Representatives of member states, the private sector, academia, NGOs and international organizations comprise the membership of the Joint Task Force.
The Third Meeting of the Joint Task Force which will take place on 3 October 2018 in Geneva back-to-back with the 79th session of the Committee on Housing and Land Management.
This workshop is organized as part of the extrabudgetary project "Enhancing national capacities for development and implementation of the energy efficiency standards in buildings in the UNECE Region", which along with the project "Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings in the UNECE Region", supports the activities of the Joint Task Force. The projects are funded respectively by the Russian Federation and Denmark.
This workshop aims to review a draft of the study on mapping of existing technologies to enhance energy efficiency in buildings, including gap analysis and recommendations for their use in the region and validate its results. Participants will discuss the draft, provide their comments, reflect on the status of development and implementation of energy efficiency technologies in buildings in their countries, and exchange expériences in implemetation of advanced technologies.
