  • Gas and post-COVID-19 recovery

  • Methane management in the gas sector

  • Carbon neutrality through synergies between gas(es) and renewable electricity

  • Sustainable hydrogen: An innovative solution for carbon neutrality

  • Improving urban air quality

  • Use of gas in transportation – challenges and opportunities

  • Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage: The role of gas infrastructure

  • Promoting sustainable and clean production, distribution, and consumption of gas and LNG in the ECE region

Defining sustainable hydrogen: beyond colours

At its 8th Session held on 25- 26 March 2021, the Group of Experts on Gas stressed the need to develop a scientifically based terminology for renewable, decarbonized, and low-carbon hydrogen. A clear taxonomy would provide legal certainty, foster collaboration, and investment flows. Member States are invited to adapt national legal definitions to reflect the definitions established by this new standard.
