A public consultation meeting in the framework of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Orhei Town Master Plan aims to:
· Inform local stakeholders about the Orhei Town Master Plan preparation process;
· Raise awareness among the local authorities and the public about SEA and its pilot application for the Master Plan;
· Present preliminary findings of the SEA regarding the potential environmental impact of the proposed Master Plan;
· Obtain feedback about the Master Plan and SEA scoping from the local stakeholders including concerned public;
· Identify and verify environmental aspects and key problems related to the environment in Orhei and the implementation of the Master Plan;
· Present opportunities for furhter involvement of the local stackeholders into the process of preparing the SEA and the Master Plan.
The meeting will gather up to 40 participants - representatives of local authorities of the Orhei Town, planners (representative of the Orhei Master plan preparation team), local NGOs, environemntal and health autorities and general public, and national SEA experts that deal with the carrying out the assessment of the Master Plan at the moment.
The results of the public consultations will be noted at the SEA Scoping Report and incorporated into the further stages of the SEA and reflected at the final SEA Report.
