In addition to its core standard-setting work, the Working Party on Agricultural Quality Standards has over the past few years focused on food loss and waste reduction and prevention. Practical tools and guidelines created include the UNECE Code of Good Practice, the UNECE Food Loss and Waste Measuring Methodology for Fresh Produce Supply Chains, as well as the development of Minimum Quality Specifications for Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.
At its 77th session, the Working Party took stock of this work and discussed its future work on food loss and waste, including the implementation of the Code of Good Practice and related tools. The aim of this round table was to feed into that discussion by exploring good practices and solutions for food loss and waste prevention and reduction.
