Project description:

This project aims to strengthen the capacities of selected countries in the sustainable production of critical raw materials essential for low-carbon energy transitions through the application of the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS). Implementing international best practices will address the environmental, social, and economic impacts of raw material extraction, focusing on minerals like lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements.

Objectives:

  • Enhance sustainable practices in critical raw material production.
  • Promote circularity, innovation, and transparency within the sector.
  • Build capacity and facilitate knowledge-sharing among stakeholders.

Project activities:

  • Development of policy guidance and best practice toolkits.
  • Conduct workshops and training courses to disseminate knowledge.
  • Develop UNRMS case studies. 
  • Foster multi-stakeholder partnerships and joint actions.
