About the Event

Launched in 2020, the first IPO iteration concentrated on the Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia (EESC) sub-region. The initiative has since been instrumental in supporting these countries as they strive to create a robust innovation ecosystem by identifying and addressing key challenges and opportunities within their innovation policies.

The Interim IPO (IIPO) marks the second iteration of this transformative initiative. By assessing recent developments, progress, and priority topics, the IIPO is designed to help countries further refine and improve their innovation policies. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create a more prosperous and sustainable future for all.

The launch of the IIPO publication will take place during the 16th Session of the UNECE Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships (CICPPP). As UNECE's intergovernmental forum, CICPPP fosters discussions on policy measures that promote economic expansion, innovation, entrepreneurship, effective regulation, corporate governance, and public-private collaboration across member states. Esteemed international experts, partners, and other innovation stakeholders from the EESC sub-region will partake in the launch event. During the event, the UNECE Secretariat will present a summary of the IIPO publication's key findings and suggestions. This will be followed by remarks from EESC government representatives, who will shed light on the IIPO's influence on innovation-driven growth within their respective economies and the sub-region as a whole.

After the conclusion of the substantive sessions of the IIPO launch, you are cordially are invited to participate in the IIPO launch and networking reception at the Serpent Bar (just outside of Room XVI).
