We are proud to present the new drupal site to you. More than 100 of you have actively worked on this major project in the last year and the results you see before you were only made possible by your great support in testing, editing, and publishing pages on the site. Launching the site is a major milestone, but the work is not done! Here's what you can do if you encounter an issue.
Migration and missing content
Our site is not a normal site. There are over 30,000 pages that have been written and edited by you and your predecessors over more than 20 years, and it has been no small feat to migrate them. Early in the project each subprogramme identified the pages that were most critical and a plan to publish them. Nevertheless, you may miss some content from the old site. If this is the case, please contact your editor directly, they have been trained and will be able to publish the missing content for you.
Bugs and Unexpected Behavior
Any new site is going to have some bugs. We've been testing this site for over two months and have solved over 500 bugs already, including all known major and critical issues. There are several known outstanding issues in the following areas:
-
breadcrumbs
-
cosmetic issues (like alignment of images or spacing between lines)
-
difficulty editing menus
In the course of your work, if you encounter some behavior that you think is a bug, please report it to your web focal point.
New opportunities and improvements
We are excited about the many new features provided by this upgraded site, and equally excited to continue development to extend and improve those features in the coming weeks and months. The project team is committed to keeping the momentum that has lead us to this point and have already been making plans for what will come next. If you come up with an idea for the site, please contact your focal point or post in the Web Working Group Feedback and Ideas Channel and we'll discuss your proposed improvements at our upcoming Web Working Group meetings.
Thank you for your patience and support in this time of transition and we hope you will enjoy UNECE's new digital home!
Sincerely
UNECE Website Project Team
