On 7 June 2022, the Special Envoy delivered online opening remarks at the World Bank Event on Mobilizing Private Financing for Road Safety in low- and middle-income countries. The Special Envoy highlighted that road traffic crashes have a greater impact on the economies of such countries. He advocated for private and public funding to be incorporated together through innovative financing mechanisms. The Special Envoy commended the Knowledge Report on Mobilizing Private Financing and ended his speech by encouraging private investment and support to the UNRSF.
