On 28 April 2022, the Special Envoy participated in the UN-Habitat High-Level Meeting on the New Urban Agenda where he recommended to implement car free areas and hold car free days to promote walking and cycling. On its margins, the Special Envoy delivered a speech at the High-Level bike ride which was organized to raise awareness on the need for sustainable mobility as well as at the side event on the Implementation of Walking and Cycling in cities organized. He stressed the importance of walking and cycling as a means of safe mobility, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
