On 3 November 2022, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Mr. Marcel R. Tibaleka, Permanent Representative of Uganda to the UN Office at Geneva.
On the occasion, the Special Envoy introduced road fatalities and injuries as a development challenge and advocated for a safer transport system; raised the road safety situation in the African Region and Uganda as well as recommended solutions; shared about the Road Safety Performance Review conducted by the Special Envoy in Uganda; update on the Global Plan for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030); and informed about the UNRSF and its call for proposals.
