On 6 September 2022, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Ms. Hend Abdalrahman Al-Muftah, Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN Office at Geneva. On the occasion, the Special Envoy introduced road fatalities and injuries as a development challenge and advocated for a safer transport system; raised the road safety situation in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and Qatar as well as recommended solutions; and update on the UNRSF and encouraged engagement as a Member State donor.
