Since 2017, the Joint Forest Sector Questionnaire (JFSQ) has included data on recovered post-consumer wood. Around half of the UNECE member States currently provide data under this category. The Section coordinated with EUROSTAT, ITTO and FAO to make the JFSQ a joint global collection tool covering all regions using the same principles.

The Joint Wood Energy Enquiry (JWEE) includes data on the amount of wood energy produced from wood processing by-products and post-consumer recovered wood.
