The "SDG 9 & Fashion - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure" event gathered entrepreneurs and representatives of the fashion industry for a dialogue with United Nations Member States and other participants in the UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development on how the industry can contribute to achieving the targets of SDG 9 and what the current main obstacles are preventing the industry to become more sustainable. This work is part of the UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion and outcomes of the event will feed into the work of all its members – UNECE, the Connect4Climate; the World Bank Group; International Labour Organization; ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative; UN Development Programme; UN Environment, UN Global Compact and the United Nations Office for Partnerships.
This side event is related not only to the achivement of SDG 9 but also of SDGs 1,6, 7,8, 12 and 13.
