"From 16th through the 19th of November, KEI and the Ministry of Environment jointly hosted the 7th Workshop on Assessment of Transboundary Environmental Effect in Northeast Asia at the Songdo Bridge Hotel in Incheon. This workshop centered on discussing environmental governance apropos of the Northeast Asian region, necessary for the implementation of environmental assessment when transboundary large-scale projects embark.  Moreover, the workshop provided to pertinent researchers and civil servants education of systems and technology related to trasnboundary environmental assessement.  As such, specialists from Mongolia and Russia were invited to participate along with Dr. Lee Youngjun (Head of Integrated Environmental Research Group), Dr. Mun Nankyeong, and Section Chief Seong Suho from KEI.  In addition, Professor Choe Jaeyong (Chungnam University), Song Pokcheol (UNDP’s Tumen Secretariat Program Advisor, Professor Mary Koyano (Hokkaido University), Professor Mikiyasu Nakayama (University of Tokyo), and Sandra Ruza (UNECE) participated in lively and fruitful discussions on transboundary environmental assessment."
