04 April 2018
Kiev Ukraine

Since 2013, the UNECE within the EaP GREEN framework has been supporting Ukraine in developing the national strategic environment assessment (SEA) and environment impact assessment (EIA) systems.

On 20 March 2018, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law of Ukraine "On strategic environmental assessment", and signing of the Law on SEA by the President of Ukraine is soon expected. Considering this status of establishing the national legislative framework for SEA, the objectiveі of the final event are to:

  • Introduce the participants to the international obligations of Ukraine for the implementation of strategic environmental assessment;
  • Discuss the process and aspects of introducing the legal system of SEA in Ukraine.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine in cooperation with the UNECE within the framework of the EaP GREEN. The logistical support is provided by the Law-Making and Information Technologies Institute NGO (Ukraine).

The workshop will invite representatives of central executive authorities, specialized committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Assistants of the People's Deputies, experts and practitioners, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations.
