The Core Group on Reporting was established by the Meeting of the Parties through the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management and mandated to prepare a proposal for a possible reporting mechanism under the UNECE Water Convention, taking into account the capacity of countries and other relevant reporting mechanisms. At its first meeting on 15-16 December, the Core Group reviewed other related reporting mechanisms and discussed the purpose, scope, content and format of a possible reporting mechanism under the Water Convention.
