The Water Convention and the Protocol on Water and Health, as well as different activities carried out under their framework, were presented and promoted in different events organized under the different processes of the 7th World Water Forum.

UNECE co-organized several sessions under the thematic, regional and special focus processes and contributed through presentations and inputs in a number of events, focusing on the following themes:

  • International water law and support to transboundary water cooperation;
  • Adaptation to climate change in transboundary basins;
  • Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystems Nexus and benefits of transboundary water cooperation;
  • Human right to water and sanitation.


The new UNECE-INBO publication Water and Climate Change Adaptation in Transboundary Basins: Lessons learned and good Practices was launched and attracted high interest.
