Brainstorming on the Role of Natural Gas in Achieving 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement

Brainstorming on the Role of Natural Gas in Achieving 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement

25 March 2019
Salle XI, Palais des Nations Geneva Switzerland

The project will complement the ongoing UNECE flagship project Pathways to Sustainable Energy and the work of the Group of Experts on Gas to explore in-depth role that natural gas could play in the strategic options that countries will consider meeting their commitments.
UNECE will embark on a series of studies on:

  • Role of gas in displacing competing fuels
  • Role of gas in supporting the uptake of renewable energy
  • Penetration of gas into new markets through small-scale liquified natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG)
  • Addressing environmental issues associated with natural gas

All interested experts are invited to join the brainstorming session on the above key topics. Your involvement is crucial in achieving the objective of the project. The meeting will be held during the annual session of the Group of Experts on Gas and seeks its involvement to strengthen the ongoing workplan.
