UNECE launches an innovative tool for trade facilitation implementation

25 October 2012
Room VIII, Palais des Nations Geneva Switzerland

UNECE is pleased to announce the launch of its Trade Facilitation Implementation Guide. It is a tool for simplifying cross-border trade! It was developed with the support of UN/CEFACT and with funds from the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency (Sida)

The Guide is entirely web-based and interactive. This allows users to select the trade-facilitation issues of their interest and explore possible reform paths and solutions. For example, if one is experiencing delays in the release of goods at the border, the Guide will provide a variety of concepts, standards and recommendations that can help improve the situation. The Guide includes the work of key organizations for trade facilitation and covers the ongoing negotiations at the WTO. It is available in English, and will be translated into French and Russian. It is published on the UNECE website at www.unece.org/trade/tfig

The event will be opened by Sven Alkalaj, Executive Secretary of UNECE and Ambassador Joakim Reiter, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the WTO.

It will take place on 25 October at 10:00 am, in Room XXIII, at the Palais des Nations (Building E).
