United Smart Cities at the Smart City Expo World Congress

The United Smart Cities (USC) is pleased to be part of the Smart City EXPO World Congress (13-15 November 2018). USC was part of several activities with the Netherlands, its cities, and BTG (Branch Association for ICT Telecommunications Large Users). BTG has recently announced a far-reaching collaboration with USC so now the two parties can join forces in supporting cities to become smarter and more sustainable.

At the Holland Pavilion, a wide selection of Dutch smart city innovations were showcased.

A special event was the joint presentation of USC, BTG and Dutch cities such as Krimpen that showcased the benefits of the holistic partnership. Moreover, USC showcased also innovative solution with its Global Industry Advisory partner Deutsche Telekom during a booth tour.

The booth tour with the motto “Smart Services. Livable Cities.“ Deutsche Telekom presented its flagship Smart City solutions and those of USC's partners. The highlight was the joint presentation of selected projects – the cities of Athens (Greece), Trenčín (Slovakia), Gijón (Spain) and Kazimierz (Poland).

The tour provided the opportunity to get direct insights. After the tour, time was alloted for for questions and networking with:

  • Karia Aina Eik, Director United Smart Cities & General Secretary of the Organization for International Economic Relations (OiER)
  • Markus Keller, Vice President and responsible for Smart City at Deutsche Telekom


The tour was held on 14 November 2018 at 2:00 pm CET from the booth of Deutsche Telekom (hall P2 , Level 0 , Street C , booth 301).
