3rd Consortium Board Meeting

3rd Consortium Board Meeting

10 - 11 May 2001
Rome Italy

The third meeting of the Consortium Board was held on 10 and 11 May 2001 in Rome (Italy). It was hosted by the Demographic Department of the Università "La Sapienza". The meeting was chaired by Mr. Miroslav Macura and Mr. Gijs Beets.

New call to DG Research

Mr. Patrick Festy informed the group about the content of the new call for proposals. This call is substantively quite different from the previous one. However, the call welcomes infrastructure projects.

Note on programme goals

The Board discussed the note on ‘Programme Goals, research aims and requisite data: proposals to the GGP Consortium Board’, prepared by Mr. Miroslav Macura. The note drew on the discussions involving selected members of the Consortium Board who met in The Hague (The Netherlands) on 5–6 March 2001 and in Paris (France) on 27 April 2001.Suggestions for and amendments on the note were made and agreements on requisite revisions were reached.

1st IWG meeting

The Board decided to convene a 1st Meeting of the International Working Group of the GGP in Budapest (Hungary) on 24–25 September 2001. The Hungarian Central Statistical Office will host the meeting. A revised version of the paper prepared by Mr. Miroslav Macura will be presented to the participants of that meeting. The objective of the meeting will be to constitute IWG; to make proposals to the group on GGP objective, research aims and requisite data; to have those proposals discussed, modified and endorsed; and, in the process, to clear ground for the drafting of the project request to DG Research.
