In collaboration with the IESE Business School and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (MAB), this SMART SPACE event (Palau Macaya in Barcelona) will address two specific challenges. Firstly, defining the most appropriate formula for governance, including the participation and involvement of people, organizations, and other entities. Secondly, developing the best solutions to the serious problem of metropolitan mobility, which affects sustainability and quality of life. This is the first of a series of events, starting with a conference on governance in metropolitan settings.

UNECE will participate in the session “Metropolitan Governance”, which will address the importance of designing spaces in cities and areas with high population densities, as the design of these spaces can have both positive and negative effects on the population.
