World Habitat Day at Palais des Nations

04 October 2019
Palais des Nations Geneva Switzerland

Venue: Conference Room XIV (Cinema), Palais des Nations

On 7 October 2019, the United Nations celebrates the World Habitat Day to highlight the importance of access to affordable and decent housing and urban infrastructure in liveable cities for all. To mark World Habitat Day, the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management and its Real Estate Market Advisory Group will organize screening of the documentary "Push", a film from award-winning director Mr. Fredrik Gertten, investigating why we cannot afford to live in our cities anymore. The documentary highlights the challenges in the housing markets and the role of global finance in making the housing sector unsustainable. The event is part of the UNECE Sustainable Cities Week (please see more at www.unece.org/housing/sustainablecitiesweek.html ).
