In collaboration with UNOG, we are pleased to invite you to a unique showing of Bring the Sun Home, a documentary by Chiara Andrich and Giovanni Pellegrini about the Barefoot women solar engineers.

The use of solar energy in rural areas across many regions of the world has increased over the years. With the development of new technologies and subsequent cost reduction, many small projects can now bring solar power to a growing number of rural communities.
And what is this innovation bringing around the World? The future is renewable energy, both in those areas that are beyond the reach of electrical grids and in those countries that are economically and technologically advanced, from villages of South America or India -  as those showed in the film - to the countries with a different status of renewable energy development of the UNECE region, from a remote village in a developing country to a dynamic city - like Geneva -  of a rich economy. All this can be seen as part of a global vision to bring a metaphoric sun to all homes."

The screening and follow up panel discussion will take place on 17 September at 11 am Cinéma CINERAMA EMPIRE, Rue de Carouge 72-74
