Following requests for technical assistance from the Nepalese government, a national-level capacity building workshop was organized in Kathmandu on 19-22 March, in collaboration with ESCAP and ECE.
The workshop focused around international best practices, including UN legal instruments as well as review and recommendations to Nepal’s national road safety strategy and the action plan, including national helmet standard.
The technical assistance stemmed from Nepal’s participation during the Motorcycle Safety Regional Workshop held in Kuala Lumpur with ECE, ESCAP and the Special Envoy in 2017.
