Information submitted by a Belarusian NGO on the planned construction of nuclear reactors 3 and 4 at the Khmelnytskyi NPP in Ukraine, approximately 150 kilometres from the borders with the Republic of Moldova and Romania, and approximately 350 kilometres from the border with Belarus. The information gathering was closed at the Committee's thirty-fourth session (Geneva, 8-10 December 2015) further to the information from Ukraine that it had denounced the agreement of cooperation with the Russian Federation for the construction and financing of the third and fourth power units of the Khmelnitsky plant, putting off implementation of the activity (see ECE.MP.EIA/IC/2015/4 paras 43-44). The committee resumed its consideration of the information it had gathered on the planned construction of nuclear reactors 3 and 4 at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant in Ukraine in the light of new information made available by Poland on 11 July 2017 about the ongoing transboundary environmental impact assessment procedure with regard to the activity (see ECE/MP/EIA/IC/2017/4 para 54)
