Mr. Weddepohl’s passion is to connect people through technology. Peerby is a website and app that allows you to lend and borrow stuff from people in the area. With Peerby, Daan successfully completed the Founder Institute from Silicon Valley and he is an alumnus of the Amsterdam Rockstart Accelerator and Techstars in London. In 2012 Peerby won an international award for sustainable initiatives at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, in 2013 Peerby won the Ben & Jerry's Join Our Core competition in London and in 2014 Peerby was named Urban App of the year by the New Cities Foundation at the Dallas finale. Mr. Weddepohl himself was the winner of the Tech Talent awards of The Guardian newspaper and was nominated for various entrepreneur awards, including entrepreneur of the year. In 2016 Peerby set a record with two million euros in crowdfunding in 4 days.
