On 28 September 2023, the Special Envoy met with the following representatives from the Kingdom of Qatar during their visit to Geneva, in coordination with colleagues from the UNESCO, who were also in attendance. The purpose of the discussion was to encourage Qatar to address vehicle standards; to accede to all the UN Road Safety Legal instruments: Qatar is a contracting party to 1 of the 7 UN Road Safety Conventions (1968 Conventions on Road Traffic); to implement National child restraint law; and to improve data management by participating in the Regional Road Safety Observatory.
